Progressive draw bet strategy

The focus of our discussion of tie bets should be our experience with the progressive draw betting strategy. This works very simply: You choose any team that, based on experience, often draws. Our tip: It is mostly teams that have been in the middle of the table for years that draw the most often. If your choice has been made, the next step should be to bet on draws for every game of this team for an entire season – because this strategy is only profitable if it is carried out consistently over the long term.

The tip is of course as a single bet. This may sound a bit irritating at first, but the highlight of this draw betting system, in addition to the high odds, is that it works with a so-called loss progression. That means: In the event of a loss, you increase your specified basic stake by a certain percentage so that in the event of a win the previous loss is repaid and a constant plus can be earned. Similarities to the world-famous Martingale strategy, which is often used in roulette, are unrecognizable.

The advantage of the progressive tie betting strategy: Due to the high betting odds, which are on average well over 3.00, the stake does not have to be doubled, a 50% increase in the event of a loss is sufficient. The betting stakes increased less rapidly with losing streak. The risks of this strategy should of course not be concealed: With this type of betting on a draw, you have to reckon with sometimes very high stakes. A generous betting budget is therefore an advantage.

Example for draw predictions strategy

To better illustrate the progressive draw system, we want to bring it closer to you with an example. For our team selection, we take a look at the final table of the German Bundesliga championship from the 2016/17 season. Of course, you can also choose another football league. It shows that Hoffenheim has the highest number of draws with 14 draws. That’s 41.18% of all league games. For the 2017/18 season we will therefore use this team for our bets on a draw.

Beginners who use this tie betting strategy for the first time should choose a rather low base stake. We recommend one low single-digit amount so that the stakes always remain affordable and a total loss is avoided. For the sake of simplicity, in our example we assume an average rate of 3.50 for tip X (= tie). With the best betting providers, the average is even a lot above this value assumed by us (up to 3.90). The rate of 3.50 is therefore never set too high.

We choose 3 euros as the basic stake. With a targeted increase in stakes of 50%, even after six unsuccessful bets in a row we must place “just” an amount of 34.17 euros to keep up. The aim is to bet on draws for the respective team for one season. Follow the same team. Of course, the bet can be suspended at your own discretion, for example against favorites as high as a house. Let’s see our example: The first 20 matchdays of Hoffenheim in the 2017/2018 season were structured as follows:

As you can see, Hoffenheim team won’t let us down with our draw betting strategy – a tie is reliably delivered from time to time. Losing bets can be accepted in between. After 20 game days we hold onto a net profit of 54.36 euros . BUT: Are there perfect draw predictions? At this point we would like to mention that this system can of course also produce a minus. A positive conclusion after the end of the season cannot be guaranteed either.

Advantages and disadvantages of draw predictions strategy

The advantages of the tactic of betting on a draw is certainly due to the high average odds in the range of 3.40 to 3.80 or even higher. Lost bets can be quickly made up for with the loss progression in the truest sense of the word. A look at the statistics shows that in the Bundesliga season 2016/17 a total of 74 of 306 games ended with a point separation – that’s 24.18%.

Remember, you can always check other championships, leagues and tournaments such as the Champions League or the Europa League as well. For example, there are leagues such as the Italian Serie A, and especially Serie B, or the Spanish La Liga and Segunda Division, or the French Ligue 1, where draws come in higher percentages.

This also corresponds to the cross-league average. Long-term statistics show that roughly every fourth game ends in a draw. Betting on a draw is therefore quite tempting and the numbers also show why so many combination bets that do not contain Tip X go wrong.

Another advantage of this tie strategy: It doesn’t require a lot of sports knowledge. Evil tongues even claim that no knowledge of sports is required. So the tie system is simple and promising.

The minus

Where is the catch now? Quite simply: Even if in theory every fourth match ends in a draw, the luck factor plays a not insignificant component in this betting strategy. Above all, however, it is a question of budget whether you want to or can afford this tap on a draw.

The risk is of course a total loss – what good is the next draw if your betting budget is exhausted beforehand? A realistic calculation and long-term money management should definitely form the basis before you venture into this approach. Very important: Keep the basic stake low for the time being and do not increase the stake 100 percent in the event of a loss, as this is simply not necessary!

Alternative strategies draw bet

Our experience shows that there is little point in betting on a tie for an entire match day in a certain league. Suppose you bet like full game days of the English Premier League and submit a tip X for each game: That would mean 20 betting tips with a stake of 5 euros each, i.e. a total stake of 100 euros. Let us now assume that, according to statistical mean values, every fourth encounter ends in a draw: That would be a success rate of 5 games.

With an average rate of 3.50 this would bring a profit of 87.50 euros, which means a loss of 12.50 euros on balance. Starting with 6 draws you would end up in the plus – even if only just: your net winnings would be 5 euros. Always keep in mind that even for this small sum a portion of luck is necessary.

This tie strategy may be successful within individual game days – but in the long term it is not very promising and you will almost certainly end up in the red after a while. For this reason, we want to present you with three tie betting strategies that turn out to be a lot more profitable.

Bet on a handicap tie

This strategic consideration is a good alternative for anyone with an aversion to tie betting. After all, with a “Handicap X bet” you are actually betting on the victory of a certain team. As an example of the lucrative betting odds, we take the match between Arsenal and Everton. Let’s say you expect the Gunners to win at home. Instead of placing a traditional 3-way bet on tip 1, you could place a handicap tie bet (0-1 or 0-2). The slightly greater risk is rewarded with very high odds.

Bet on draw in the first half

Traditionally, fewer goals are scored in the first half than in the second. Because of this, halftime scores are much more likely than final results to be a tie. Especially favorites who start slowly in the game are content with a 0-0 or 1-1 break. Odds of 3.00 or more are not uncommon for games that have a clear favorite.

If you can find constant odds of 2.00 or higher for your team at a bookmaker, the progressive tie betting strategy can also be used here. In view of the lower odds, a doubling of the stake would of course have to be expected in order to offset losses and make long-term profits. Let’s stick with our example of Arsenal against Everton, to illustrate the differences in odds compared to the conventional 3-way bet:

Due to the betting principle, this type of bet is ideal for betting on single or multiple draws. With the inclusion of a single draw tip in the system bet of your choice, the overall odds and, as a logical consequence, the maximum profit increase rapidly. If the draw does not work out in a row, this is only half as bad with the system bet. There are still chances that a win will look out in the end. Small losses are gladly accepted by many sports betting fans in view of the possible high winnings. In order for you to lose your entire stake, should the tie bet not work out, other betting tips would also have to fall over.
